Metal satin finishing

Satin finishing is a type of finish that is increasingly required in the production and finishing of metals, especially in design contexts. This type of processing is easier to obtain than polishing and makes the product on which it is applied less delicate. Furthermore, this processing covers any surface defects of the materials and the marks left by other processes. The satin finish is obtained with three-dimensional abrasives, such as bear-tex, scotch-brite or surface conditionning, or with abrasis of different weights in a different way. This finish has multiple applications. The satin finish gives the finished details the characteristic opaque appearance which is very elegant, but this type of processing does not only have purely aesthetic purposes. The satin finish serves to make these surfaces opaque and not to allow the possible nesting of bacteria in the furrows of the previous processes.
